HOW TO WHIP MATCHA

Whipping up the perfect green foam can be difficult but don't give up - keep practicing and enjoy your matcha time!

  1. Measure 2 bamboo scoops of matcha powder into a bowl.
  2. Heat tea water to 70 – 80 °C and pour approx. 1/2 dl of water in the bowl with matcha.
  3. Hold the bowl steady and whisk quickly back and forth in a “W” until a light green foam forms on top.
  4. Fill the bowl with tea water or skimmed plant-based milk for a matcha latte.

Tip!

  • Place the matcha whisk in a bowl of warm water before use to soften the bamboo straws. If the whisk is new, the bud in the center will open like a flower.
  • Heat the matcha bowl with hot water and then dry it thoroughly before adding the matcha powder. This means that the matcha stays hot longer.
  • Sieve the matcha powder into the bowl if it has clumped so it is easier to whisk it out with the water.
  • Whisk quickly but do not drive the whisk too hard in the bottom of the bowl as this will wear out the whisk and the bamboo straws may come off.
