This exclusive matcha bowl is meticulously handcrafted in Gifu Prefecture, known for its rich ceramic tradition and unique clay. The bowl was created for a Buddhist monk for use in tea ceremonies at Kokeizan Eihoji Temple. The inside of the bowl is covered in an elegant matte black lacquer that highlights the color of the tea and creates a beautiful contrast against the golden surface. The outside is carefully coated with several layers of 24 carat gold leaf finish, which shimmers beautifully in the light and gives the bowl a sophisticated and timeless aesthetic. To further emphasize authenticity and exclusivity, the matcha bowl is delivered in a handmade wooden box, making it a perfect gift or a valuable collector's item for tea lovers and connoisseurs alike.

While traveling in Gifu, Japan, we received an unexpected tip. In the small town of Tajimi, known for its rich pottery tradition, we made an extraordinary discovery. Due to the circumstances of the world and a lucky coincidence We had the chance to take part in a few exclusive matcha bowls that otherwise rarely reach the market.

This bowl was originally intended for a Buddhist monk at the ancient Kokeizan Eihoji Temple , but for various reasons it was never retrieved.

Now, several years later, we are finally ready to share this unique and rare find – a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for tea lovers and collectors.
