RENÉE VOLTAIRE AB
In Sweden, food accounts for a third of all climate impact - and even more of the health impact. Therefore, we know for sure that a better world can be built with a knife and fork. The more plant-based and organic we eat, the closer we get. But we are equally convinced that we will never get there with pointing sticks, coercion and sacrifice. That's why we get out of bed every day to make it more fun and enjoyable to live sustainably. With new products, new recipes and new inspiration.
ENJOYMENT IS THE ONLY THING SUSTAINABLE
In mind and heart, most of us want to eat so that both the planet and the body feel good. But no matter how much we want to, taste and enjoyment usually get the last word. What we do as a sacrifice is always short-lived. And what is short-lived is never sustainable.
For too long, the naysayers had to write the rules: "There is a limit to how good we can have it." What does good cannot be good. If the planet suffers, you should not enjoy.”
Renée Voltaire challenges all such rules and habits. We refuse to compromise between sustainability and enjoyment of life. We are happy rebels, not sour moralists. Optimists, not doomsday prophets. We invent, inspire and rewrite the menu instead of banning and condemning. We don't preach "less is more", we live "yes is more".
It's not the easiest way, but the most fun. And above all, the only sustainable one. Because there is only one way to choose health and the environment, day after day. To enjoy it.
THERE ARE LIMITS TO WHAT QUALITY CAN COST
How the food tastes, looks and is packaged is easy to sum up as quality. But for us the word is bigger than that. We say that the value of our products should always be higher than their price. And then we talk about the value for everyone involved. The customers, the growers, the animals and the rest of our ecosystem. The quality must never consume more than what is recreated. All of this may sound philosophical, but it's actually quite simple. For us, quality is the same as sustainability. Ecological, social and economic.
Ecological sustainability is getting by with the only planet we've been given. Therefore, we constantly reduce our climate impact, our food waste, our water and energy consumption. While maximizing our recycling of paper, glass, plastic, water and our share of renewable energy. But the very core is our idea of organic and plant-based food.
Social sustainability is an equal and equal world where everyone lives a good and healthy life. We regularly check that our approximately eighty suppliers in over twenty countries are exemplary in these respects. Just like our own organization it is.
Economic sustainability means fighting corruption and fraud with one hand, while the other gives value to customers and profitability to suppliers. And preferably a surplus for ourselves that is enough to continue challenging the food world and develop new products.
OUR PART OF THE JOB
We want to build a better world by inspiring sustainable enjoyment. But if you take that task seriously, some proud declarations on a website are not enough. People shop and eat everywhere all the time, so we need to be with them everywhere all the time. Feed both the brain and the basket with desire, curiosity and confidence. Here are some examples:
- We always strive for plant-based, unprocessed, small-scale and artisanal. To find the new ideas, we have to eat, drink, bake, shop and meet people all over the world. Curiously soak in and liberally share with us.
- Anyone who follows us on Instagram and Facebook ends up in a combined experimental workshop, tip box and pep course. Here, our food culture is reborn every day.
- Cookbooks can be theoretical bragging rights for the coffee table. Our books are full of practical techniques, smart shopping tips, encouraging shouts and fun recipes. Therefore, they are usually too stained for the coffee table. So far we have done about ten.
- Nothing is more inspiring than living people. That's why we organize courses and lectures where you meet us and others like you. Events about plant-based food, vegan food, gluten-free food, raw food, slow food, fast food, live food, friendly gut bacteria with probiotic and prebiotic ability and more and more, and about both mental and physical strength and about all forms of sustainable enjoyment. Welcome .
- In the grocery store comes the moment of truth for the body and the planet. We have hundreds of products in the assortment that are so good, exciting and well-designed that you will long for them. And for your trader to want to roll up as many as possible.
AN ENDLESS HUNT
Every time we decide to launch a product, our buyers go out and look for suppliers all over the world. We often pit three finalists against each other before making a choice. All so that we don't have to compromise on a single unnecessary addition or lack of quality.
The evaluation takes place based on the parameters ingredients, taste, production conditions and durability. To win our approval, the best raw materials, techniques and craftsmen are always required. This means that the price can never be low. But our principle is that the value of each product should always be higher than the price.
ORGANIC TASTES MORE
Organic ingredients grow in real soil and at their own pace. Without being stressed by artificial fertilizers or chemical pesticides. In this way, they develop good, natural and high flavors. And therefore no artificial additives or flavorings are needed when cooking and eating them. Our aim is that all the raw materials we use must be organic. Right now we have reached 90%.
OWN PRODUCED IN ÅRSTA
The hub of our business is our own production facility in Årsta, Stockholm. For Pepstop, everything is cooked, baked and pressed fresh here for daily delivery to our stores and our webshop. For Renée Voltaire, about 25% of the products are made here, as unprocessed, small-scale and artisanal as possible. For Pepstop, 100% of the products are made fresh here - 100% vegan and completely free of artificiality. And for all future innovations, this is where it is thought, tested and tested.
EXTERNALLY PRODUCED ON EARTH
Fantastic flavors can be hidden in every corner of the world. Renée and colleagues are constantly traveling around and turning over rocks in search of new ideas, products and production partners. Sometimes, after careful checks, we buy in so-called private label products. Sometimes we find skilled producers for our self-developed ideas. And most of the time, Renée usually has the last finger in the pot.
THE MAGIC OF THE SMALL SERIES
Renée's finest is our special range of limited edition premium products. The finest we have. Here, there are only two ways for a product to qualify. Either it is a food product that is produced on a small scale and artisanally from its own recipe and the absolute best ingredients. Or it is a kitchen utensil from one of the leading producers, handpicked and rigorously tested by Renée herself. Yes, Small Batches are a bit luxurious. But never unnecessary. Because when it comes to food and cooking, we all deserve the best.
COMPLAINTS
Lack of quality can also be quality. Because when we learn that something has gone wrong, we can trace the cause and make sure it never happens again. Therefore, we ask anyone who is dissatisfied to save the product and contact us with the batch number and expiration date. We'll get back to you as soon as we can, eager to seal every crack.

But not all sustainable pleasures can be grown organically in Sweden. That's why we climate compensate for every trip and every transport we make. And always choose boat and train over plane and truck. It is a compromise that is hard to avoid.
OUR CERTIFICATIONS
We believe in safety in enjoyment. That is why we have certified our entire operation according to IP's standard for food safety. For us, this means that we work in a clear quality management system, as well as that both the purchasing chain and production are reviewed and approved at every step. For our suppliers, this means that they must have a quality management system as good as ours. And for you, all this means that you can trust that what is written on the packaging is exactly what is inside it.
Certification is also a requirement to sell organic products. We ourselves are approved by Kiwa , www.kiwa.se , to produce and sell EU organic goods.
