Pachypodium originates from Madagascar and is a genus of succulent plants also categorized as Caudex plant. A caudex plant characteristic is its thickened base where the plant stores, water, nutrition and energy.

Japanese growers love these plants for their small chubby appearance and grow them to be as thick as possible. Pachypodium Gracilius have become quite famous for their recognizable silhouette and they are highly sought after by collectors.
